Keynote Speaking
John T. Marcante is a former Fortune 50 Chief Information Officer and enterprise business leader with deep expertise in financial services, wealth management, digital transformation, and technology governance. He brings over three decades of experience operating at scale in highly regulated environments, with particular strength in cybersecurity oversight, enterprise resilience, and responsible AI adoption.
John currently serves as U.S. CIO in Residence at Deloitte, where he advises Fortune 500 CEOs, boards, and C-suite executives on complex technology transformation, operating model modernization, and leadership effectiveness. He chairs Deloitte’s CIO Advisory Council and helps shape the firm’s national technology leadership agenda.
Prior to Deloitte, John spent nearly 30 years at Vanguard, including almost a decade as Global CIO, reporting directly to the Chairman and CEO. During his tenure, the firm scaled to more than $12 trillion in global assets. He led enterprise-wide digital transformation, cloud modernization, agile product delivery, and global infrastructure resiliency across a 6,000-person technology organization. He regularly engaged with the Board of Directors on cybersecurity, technology risk, and large-scale capital investments.
Earlier at Vanguard, John led the firm’s high-net-worth and wealth management businesses, building a scalable hybrid advice platform that expanded access to financial advice while improving operating leverage and client loyalty.
John is the founder of Technology Leadership Solutions and serves on the executive advisory board of Myriad Ventures. He also serves as a Senior Advisor to Fleet and AIIRIFY, supporting innovation in agentic AI and autonomous service platforms.
He previously served as Board Chair and Nominating Committee Lead for Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia and is a frequent speaker and author on technology leadership and AI governance, with perspectives featured in The Wall Street Journal CIO Journal, Harvard Business Review, Business Insider, and Forbes.
